Easter decorations, arts and crafts for Kids

easter bunny pop Lollipop Bunnies You will need:
1 lollipop
2 Googly eyes
1 pink pom pom
2 white pom poms
White felt or foam sheets
Pink felt or foam sheets
Hot glue or white glue
Scissors

You need 1 old fashion plain lollipop in the clear wrapper. Usually they are hung in strands and you cut them apart. This year without trying too hard I could only find strip o' pops with tongue tattoos on them. They are a little more oval than I like but they still work. Just use the plain backsides as the front.

Depending on the size of your lollipops will depend on the size of your googly eyes, pink nose pom poms and white cheek pom poms. Cut out ear shapes from the white felt or foam sheet. Then cut out inner ear shapes from the pink felt or foam sheets. Glue the pink inner ear shape onto the white ear. Leaving the clear wrapper on, I glue the ears to the back of the lollipop with the white and pink side facing forward. I like to glue the white cheek pom poms first then the nose then the eyes so I don't have the cheeks hanging off the face.

Eggshell mosaic You'll need:
Empty or blown out egg shells
Poster paints
Paint brushes
A piece of white cardboard
White glue or Mod Podge
Pencil

On the white cardboard use a pencil to draw out your design. Big shapes or simple designs work best. For example: A large oval shape on Easter egg with large dots or stripes works well. Figure out what colors you want and paint your eggs. The number of eggs and color of eggs you will need will depend on your picture so make sure to determine on your design what color you want and how much of each color you will need. To have more than you need is better than less. Let dry. Then break up the colored eggshells into small pieces and put into separate piles. Using a paint brush, brush the glue in small sections so the glue doesn't dry. Arrange your eggshell pieces and gently press into place. Continue until done.

Decoration for Easter

Use what you have. The Easter bunny and my relatives seem to always give my kids tons of cute Easter stuff. I save anything Easter and instead of stuffed bunnies staying in my kid's rooms it gets stored away with the Easter decorations. Remember to visit your local party store for plastic plates, cups, etc. You can even purchase color coordinated balloons and streamers. Don't ignore your food and drink tables, dress them up too.

Different Ways to Decorate Eggs

Have an egg dying party. Ask everyone attending to bring their own hard boiled or blown out eggs. Blow out eggs are neat because you can keep them year after year. Here's how you do them. Take an egg wipe it with vinegar let dry. At both ends with a large sewing needle or a metal meat skewer slowly but firmly apply pressure rolling the needle on the egg making a hole on each end. "Stab" the needle into the egg to break the yolk. Over the kitchen sink or a bowl, blow and I mean hard, on one end forcing the egg to come out the other end. Rinse out and let dry. With hot glue or drip candle wax to cover each hole.

Lay paper or a table cloth down on table and supply lots of dye, glitter, stickers, crayons, paint, permanent markers, glue.

A couple of ideas: use stickers, small shape stickers work best like circles to make a design on an egg then color egg let dry then peel off stickers.

Take a colored egg and with white glue make dots, stripes etc. then roll, on or sprinkle colored sand or fine glitter.

For older kids take candles and drip wax over eggs. Let dry, then dye. The candle wax keeps the previous color so you can repeat the process several times starting with lighter colored dye first. The drips also make cool designs.
